From The Executive Director

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this message. I want to personally welcome you to HeartLife Professional Soul-Care’s website.

I am grateful to my friends and colleagues who have provided statements of support for
HeartLife. I am especially indebted to the staff and membership of Germantown Baptist Church for their incredible support in allowing this vision to become a reality.

After years of research, study and consultation, HeartLife Professional Soul-Care opened its doors on November 1, 2007. I have had the opportunity to consult with churches,
denominational organizations, and pastors for many years who desired to better care for the souls of Christians in need. I have also been privileged to teach the model of soul-care, upon which HeartLife was founded, at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

It is my sincere hope and prayer that we are entering a new era of confronting the secular model of soul-care. Our current mental health industry is designed for “symptom remediation” – not spiritual transformation. The concept of sin is absent in our diagnostic and practice methodologies, yet the Holy Scriptures clearly tell us that sin is our greatest problem.

Please join me and my “family” at HeartLife Professional Soul-Care in challenging the message of secular psychologies founded on relativism and modernism. This is not an easy task to be sure, but we are to be disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ and espouse His message – do His ministry.

At HeartLife, we want to be true to the claim that we are Christian. We want the content and manner of our counseling to express the will of God and His interest in the lives of those who seek our help. If you are a pastor, I encourage you to carefully examine those to whom you refer. If you are a Christian professional, I encourage you to carefully examine your approach, ensuring that Jesus is truly the Lord of your theory and practice.

Thank you again for the opportunity to speak to you openly. If I can assist you in any way, I would consider it an honor.
