Chuck Hannaford, Ph.D., Executive Director
Dr. Chuck Hannaford is a licensed clinical psychologist with a Bible based Christ-centered private practice and is the Executive Director of HeartLife Professional Soul-Care. He has been counseling individuals, couples, and families for 27 years. He earned his doctorate from The University of North Texas and served his internship in clinical psychology at The University of Tennessee, Medical School, Division of Psychiatry, and Department of Clinical Psychology.
Katherine Wilson Blackney, Ph.D., LPC, MHSP
Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor
Katherine Wilson Blackney is a licensed professional counselor, mental health service provider and psychologist. She earned a Bachelor of Science in special education with a double major in human organizational development from Vanderbilt University. She then received her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Miss., and earned her Ph.D. from The University of Memphis in counseling psychology.
Steve Riser, LPC, MHSP, MDiv.
Licensed Professional Counselor
Steve Riser is a licensed professional counselor and mental health service provider and has been counseling families, couples and individuals for 7 years. Steve attended Auburn University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in communication. He earned his Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary in 2000 and his master’s degree in counseling from RTS in 2002. While at RTS, Steve served as a youth pastor, gaining a great deal of experience with adolescents.
Brenda Gilman, LPC, MHSP
Licensed Professional Counselor
Brenda Gilman is a licensed professional counselor and certified mental health service provider. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Memphis and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She then continued at the University of Memphis for graduate studies and earned a Master of Science in the area of community agency counseling. She completed both her practicum and internship in the counseling ministry of Germantown Baptist Church.
Mary Margaret Johnson, LPC, MHSP
Licensed Professional Counselor
Mary Margaret Johnson is a licensed professional counselor and mental health service provider at HeartLife’s headquarters in Germantown, Tenn. and the DeSoto County location in Olive Branch, Miss. She received her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Miss. After graduation, Mary Margaret worked in private practice with the Shepherd’s Staff in Jackson.
Erin Marie Adelman, BS
Office Manager/Receptionist
Erin Marie Adelman is the office manager/receptionist at HeartLife Professional Soul-Care. She received her Bachelor of Science in biblical counseling at Boyce College in Louisville, Ken. While attending Boyce College, she was a student of Dr. Hannaford. Erin Marie remembers in class Dr. Hannaford sharing his model for a professional soul-care ministry operating to support and strengthen the local church. It brings her joy to be a part of his vision being played out in the ministry of HeartLife Professional Soul-Care. She is confident of HeartLife’s ability to deliver the highest quality of professional Christian counseling because of the organization’s unapologetic Christ-centered, Bible-based approach.
Laura Hannaford
Office Administrator
Laura worked for a major airline company prior to marrying Chuck Hannaford. After her first child she decided to devote herself full time to raising their son. In November of 1999, Laura became Chuck’s full time office manager. In November of 2007, she took on the added responsibility of office administrator for HeartLife Professional Soul-Care.
