A Growing Need for Soul Care – Dr. Chuck Hannaford’s “heart” for the Church is expressed in his new book.
Men and women are turning to every form of “medication” in an effort to fill the longings of their souls, while many churches are ill-equipped to provide the necessary healing. Rather than treating the wounds of the heart, churchgoers are greeted with a message of behavior modification and sin management. In contrast, Jesus’ listeners were encouraged to bind up the broken places and to replace the ashes of shame and failure with beauty. To this end, Serendipity House releases the Picking up the Pieces Handbook to provide the critical factors necessary to launch a meaningful Soul Care ministry in your church.
Written by Dr. Chuck Hannaford, a counselor for 27 years and Clinical Professor of Biblical Counseling at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, the Picking Up the Pieces Handbook equips you to begin a thoughtful Soul Care ministry in your church. Discover how to develop and communicate vision, passion, and structure; construct a model for intervention; deal with accountability and liability issues; recruit and equip leaders; explore the paradigm shifts necessary to maintain an effective healing and recovery ministry in your church; and more!
As you consider launching a Soul Care ministry, or experience the growing need for one in your church, the Picking Up the Pieces Handbook will be a powerful resource to prepare you and your leaders to reach out to the hurting members of your church with hope and healing!
