Grace Copeland, MAC
Grace’s Life Verse: “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23
Grace Copeland graduated with her Masters of Arts in Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis Missouri. After completing both a practicum and an internship at New Hope Counseling Services, she was hired by New Hope to continue to care for her clients before moving back to her hometown, Memphis.
Grace deeply values seeing the individual value of each person she has the privilege of sitting with. Grace believes that relationships are the vehicles to change- relationships with others, self and ultimately God. She thinks it is an honor to be able to encourage, advise and walk alongside individuals and families as they do the hard work of change. Because Grace believes that change happens in relationships, she seeks to make each person feel seen, known and to create an environment where all feel safe.
Grace works primarily with children and adolescents who are struggling with things like anxiety, depression, grief, behavior issues, social skills and life transitions. Grace’s therapeutic approach is full of empathy and practical solutions. Although she leans towards a cognitive-behavioral orientation, Grace tailors her approach based on the needs of the client. She seeks to use creative forms of therapy, bringing art, games and movement whenever it is helpful.
Grace enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter by taking walks with her dog, going on outdoor adventures and trying new food. Grace is passionate about living in community with others and dedicates her time to fostering an inviting home where people feel loved and cared for.
