Living with a chronic illness is never easy—now imagine doing it while trying to learn math at the same time! Chronic illness doesn’t care how old you are, and it can make everyday life feel overwhelming. This group will incorporate art and play into discussing some really tough topics like: what it means to have a chronic illness, balancing your own expectations with a chronically ill body, how to talk about your illness with others, why it’s okay to be frustrated that you have to say “no” sometimes, and how your identity is more than your illness. This group is designed for school-aged girls (2nd-6th graders) to come together and find companionship and understanding from other girls who GET it.
