Rachel Deese, LPC-MHSP, is a licensed professional counselor, licensed brain health trainer, and certified marriage coach who is passionate about helping individuals and couples find hope, healing, and restoration.
Rachel earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from Auburn University before attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where she graduated with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Master of Arts in Christian Education. During her practicum and internship at Southwestern’s counseling center, Rachel focused on women’s issues, abuse, and trauma, shaping her heart for helping people navigate life’s deepest hurts.
Since completing her education in 2003, Rachel has served in a variety of roles, including Wellness Director at TCU, Women’s Ministry Director, Church Counselor, Behavior Coach and Therapist. These diverse experiences have deepened her understanding of the complex connection between emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual health.
Rachel’s unique combination of training in health promotion, clinical counseling, and Christian education has shaped her belief that true healing happens when the whole person is cared for — mind, body, and spirit. Because she believes every individual is uniquely created by God and deeply valuable, Rachel takes a personalized approach with every client. She draws from a variety of therapeutic tools and integrates faith-based principles to help people find freedom, resilience, and renewed purpose.
At the heart of Rachel’s work is a deep commitment to creating a safe, shame-free space where clients can bring their full selves — the parts they celebrate and the parts they hide. She believes shame thrives in secrecy and that real healing often begins when we bring what’s hidden into the light. Rachel takes a hands-on approach to therapy, helping you not only process the hard and painful parts of your story but also take meaningful steps toward lasting change. She works with you to uncover the roots of what’s keeping you stuck, equips you with practical tools, and walks alongside you as you take steps toward healing and freedom. Her goal is to create a space where you feel supported and empowered to live with greater clarity, strength, and hope.
For more than two decades, Rachel has also shared her passion for Biblical truth, mental health, marriage, and personal wellness by teaching in churches, at conferences, and in other community settings. Today, she is honored to serve as part of HeartLife Soul Care, where clinical excellence and gospel-centered care come together. Rachel values being part of a team that integrates sound clinical practices with a biblical perspective, helping clients find hope and healing through both professional expertise and faith.
Rachel holds to the promise of John 16:33, which reminds us that while this world brings trouble, we can rest in the truth that Jesus has overcome it. Sometimes, walking through those challenges requires support, and she believes that finding help from a Christian therapist can be an important part of that journey.
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Outside of her work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and goldendoodle, reading, writing, and working out.
“Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
