Eventually all of us will experience loss. Unexpected sorrow comes in many forms and nothing prepares individuals for the loss of a child, a spouse, a friend, or a family member.
Because pain can be so great during loss, we sometimes want to “move on” in order to alleviate our suffering. Yet when we ignore our grief, it will continue to negatively affect us, and those around us. Ignoring grief is unhealthy and can destroy families, end marriages, and strain relationships with others.
“The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.”
~ Psalm 34:17-19
