Thoughts for Today

Hebrews 13:20-21

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.

Have you ever been at a place where decisions and maybe life in general seem overwhelming? Maybe it is one big decision. Maybe it’s one decision after another piling up on you, and you just don’t know what to do. Are you afraid and overwhelmed?

Notice what this text says about the Lord.  He is the God of all peace and the great Shepherd of the sheep – us.  Peace and guidance are His nature and task. Then there is the promise that God has a plan for you.  He is working His plan in you for your good and His glory.

Jesus said I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world.”  (NLT).  In the preceding verse, Jesus said that He is not alone because the Father is with Him, and He is with us.

We do not have to face troubles alone.  We have each other and God has us.  In the midst of trouble, we must remind ourselves of these truths and seek brothers and sisters who can walk with us during these times.
