FAQ’s
Q: What is HeartLife Professional Soul-Care?
A: HeartLife Professional Soul-Care is a non-profit entity that exists to bring spiritual, emotional, and relational healing to hurting souls. HeartLife consists of Christian Licensed Professionals committed to support the Body of Christ through the local church. HeartLife supports and trains pastors and laity for group or one-on-one discipleship.
Q: What makes HeartLife different from other Christian Counseling Services in the area?
A: At HeartLife we are distinctively Christian and believe that our relationship with Christ and our belief in the Bible as God’s inspired and inerrant Word is the most important thing we can bring to bear in the counseling relationship.
Q: What kinds of counseling do you offer?
A: We offer a full range of counseling or soul-care services: Marital Counseling, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Relationship Counseling, Spiritual Guidance, Eating Disorders, Addiction, Substance Abuse, Sex Addiction, Family Counseling.
Q: What are your fees for counseling?
A: Our fee is $90 per session.
Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: We do not take insurance but we will assist you with getting the necessary documentation to file. When a practice or practitioner signs a Managed Care Contract, the managed care organization (MCO) can dictate the “type” of treatment and the number of approved sessions. As Christians, we do not feel that we can ethically provide treatment from the worldview that many MCO’s demand.
Q: How do I make an appointment?
A: Please call 901-414-2676 and our office manager, Erin Marie, will gladly assist you.
Q: How do I know which counselor I should see?
A: Our website provides information to help assist you in choosing a counselor that will meet your needs; if you have more specific questions Erin Marie will assist you.
Q: Will my name and information be kept in confidence?
A: Absolutely. Our counselors conduct their professional practice in conformity with legal, ethical, and professional standards. We cannot release any information about you or your situation without your written permission.
Q: I am seeking counseling for my child who is a minor, what can I expect?
A: Our counselors will meet with parents and/or guardian during the initial session and encourage a collaborative relationship throughout the process.
Q: How often will I need to see the counselor?
A: Your counselor will discuss the frequency and treatment plan individually.
Q: What hours are counselors available?
A: Our office hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM. After hours appointments are available.
Q: My spouse and I are seeking couples counseling, how does that effect confidentiality?
A: Information revealed in marital therapy is protected and requires permission of both parties to waive. Our Registration Form explains this in great detail. However, we invite you to discuss this with your counselor. Note: We also provide premarital counseling.
Q: Do you accept Insurance?
A: We are often asked why we don’t have relationships with insurance or Managed Care Companies (MCO’s). Christians seeking professional counseling or psychological services may have benefits under their health plan that may cover a portion of professional counseling/psychological services. We completely understand the necessity for some to use their benefits; however we have chosen not to pursue contracts with MCO’s for a number of reasons. Click here to read more.
